Model confidence (pLDDT)

The mean pLDDT of this model is 87.1 (confident overall). pLDDT is AlphaFold's per-residue confidence score from 0 to 100. In MolViewer, choose the B-factor color scheme to color the model by pLDDT, because AlphaFold stores it in the B-factor column.

What pLDDT means and how to read it

Function

Regulatory subunit of multiple voltage-gated sodium (Nav) channels directly mediating the depolarization of excitable membranes (PubMed:40768348). Navs, also called VGSCs (voltage-gated sodium channels) or VDSCs (voltage-dependent sodium channels), operate by switching between closed and open conformations depending on the voltage difference across the membrane. In the open conformation they allow Na(+) ions to selectively pass through the pore, along their electrochemical gradient (PubMed:40768348). The influx of Na+ ions provokes membrane depolarization, initiating the propagation of electrical signals throughout cells and tissues (PubMed:14622265, PubMed:15525788, PubMed:18464934,…

Subunit structure

Voltage-gated sodium (Nav) channel consists of an ion-conducting pore-forming alpha subunit functional on its own that is regulated by one or more beta subunits (PubMed:15525788, PubMed:21994374, PubMed:30190309, PubMed:36696443, PubMed:36823201, PubMed:40768348). Interacts with SCN1A; regulatory subunit of SCN1A/Nav1.1 (PubMed:15525788, PubMed:17928445, PubMed:21994374). Interacts with SCN3A;…
