Model confidence (pLDDT)

The mean pLDDT of this model is 85.7 (confident overall). pLDDT is AlphaFold's per-residue confidence score from 0 to 100. In MolViewer, choose the B-factor color scheme to color the model by pLDDT, because AlphaFold stores it in the B-factor column.

What pLDDT means and how to read it

Function

Promotes unequal transmission of alleles from the parental zygote to daughter cells by acting as a poison/antidote system (PubMed:39485795, PubMed:39485800). Protein present in spores adopts a toxic structural conformation, whereas protein produced in germinating cells adopts the antidote conformation, thereby leading to killing of non-carrier progeny in heterozygous crosses (PubMed:16303567, PubMed:39485795, PubMed:39485800). The toxic structural conformation is recruited to nuclear foci in a bdf1-dependent manner; these toxic foci disrupt mitotic chromosome segregation unless neutralized by antidote (PubMed:39485795, PubMed:39485800)

Subunit structure

Tetramer (PubMed:39485800). Protein expressed in vegetative cells is autoinhibited for bdf1 binding due to its adoption of a tetrameric structure (PubMed:39485800). Interacts (via C-terminus) with bdf1 (via C-terminus); the interaction is direct and required for tdk1-mediated killer meiotic drive (PubMed:39485795, PubMed:39485800)
