Model confidence (pLDDT)

The mean pLDDT of this model is 85.4 (confident overall). pLDDT is AlphaFold's per-residue confidence score from 0 to 100. In MolViewer, choose the B-factor color scheme to color the model by pLDDT, because AlphaFold stores it in the B-factor column.

pLDDT bandMeaningShare of residues
Above 90Very high: backbone and side chains are usually accurate71%
70 to 90Confident: backbone generally right13%

What pLDDT means and how to read it

Function

This receptor is controlled by G proteins. Inward rectifier potassium channels are characterized by a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out of it. Their voltage dependence is regulated by the concentration of extracellular potassium; as external potassium is raised, the voltage range of the channel opening shifts to more positive voltages. The inward rectification is mainly due to the blockage of outward current by internal magnesium. Unable to produce channel activity when expressed alone but forms a functional channel in association with KCNJ3/GIRK1

Subunit structure

Associates with KCNJ3/GIRK1 to form a G protein-activated heteromultimer pore-forming unit (PubMed:8670306). Interacts (via PDZ-binding motif) with SNX27 (via PDZ domain); the interaction is required when endocytosed to prevent degradation in lysosomes and promote recycling to the plasma membrane (PubMed:17828261, PubMed:21422294)
