The mean pLDDT of this model is 85.7 (confident overall). pLDDT is AlphaFold's per-residue confidence score from 0 to 100. In MolViewer, choose the B-factor color scheme to color the model by pLDDT, because AlphaFold stores it in the B-factor column.
| pLDDT band | Meaning | Share of residues |
|---|---|---|
| Above 90 | Very high: backbone and side chains are usually accurate | 59% |
| 70 to 90 | Confident: backbone generally right | 29% |
| 50 to 70 | Low: treat with caution | 5% |
| Below 50 | Very low: often disordered regions | 7% |
What pLDDT means and how to read it
Edema factor (EF), which constitutes one of the three proteins composing the anthrax toxin, causes edema in the host (PubMed:11807546, PubMed:2108958, PubMed:6285339). Acts as a calmodulin-dependent adenylyl cyclase by converting ATP to cAMP, leading to dramatic elevation of intracellular cAMP levels in the host, thereby causing edema (PubMed:11807546, PubMed:2108958, PubMed:6285339). EF is not toxic by itself and only acts as an edema factor when associated with protective antigen (PA) to form the edema toxin (EdTx) (PubMed:11553601, PubMed:2108958). Required for the survival of germinated spores within macrophages at the early stages of infection (PubMed:11737637)
Interacts (via ATLF domain) with the cleaved form of protective antigen (PA-63) anthrax toxin; interaction is required for EF translocation into the host cytoplasm
