The mean pLDDT of this model is 70.6 (confident overall). pLDDT is AlphaFold's per-residue confidence score from 0 to 100. In MolViewer, choose the B-factor color scheme to color the model by pLDDT, because AlphaFold stores it in the B-factor column.
| pLDDT band | Meaning | Share of residues |
|---|---|---|
| Above 90 | Very high: backbone and side chains are usually accurate | 49% |
| 70 to 90 | Confident: backbone generally right | 10% |
| 50 to 70 | Low: treat with caution | 5% |
| Below 50 | Very low: often disordered regions | 36% |
What pLDDT means and how to read it
DNA polymerase specifically involved in DNA repair. Plays an important role in translesion synthesis, where the normal high-fidelity DNA polymerases cannot proceed and DNA synthesis stalls (PubMed:12432099). Depending on the context, it inserts the correct base, but causes frequent base transitions, transversions and frameshifts. Lacks 3'-5' proofreading exonuclease activity. Forms a Schiff base with 5'-deoxyribose phosphate at abasic sites, but does not have lyase activity (By similarity)
Interacts with PCNA (By similarity). Interacts with REV1 (PubMed:14657033). Forms a quaternary complex with REV1, MAD2L2 and REV3L, where REV3L-bound MAD2L2 and POLK are able to bind simultaneously to REV1 forming the stable translesion synthesis (TLS) machinery therefore bridging the inserter and extender polymerases (PubMed:22859295)
